Μake us preferred on Google The waterfront along Limni’s coastline is set for a new look now that the procedural steps have been completed.
The Region of Central Greece said in an announcement that it has funded the project, put it out to tender, and already signed the construction contract.
This is a significant urban and environmental upgrade project for the central section of Limni’s beachfront, which has long served as the town’s main spot for walking, recreation, and tourism, drawing numerous restaurants, cafes, residents, and visitors.
According to the announcement, the physical scope of the project covers the waterfront stretch from the Scouts’ building to the “Mela” building, with interventions that include:
- Merging the coastal road with the adjacent sidewalks
- Replacing the paving with new, attractive materials
- Creating designated roadside parking zones
- Building an accessible route for people with disabilities
- Installing modern street furniture (seating, information points, etc.)
- Planting new rows of trees and low vegetation
- Replacing the current lighting with LED fixtures
- Rebuilding the waterfront railings
The project is funded through the Regional Development Program of Central Greece 2021 to 2025. Work is scheduled to begin after September 15 to minimize disruption to local businesses and restaurants during the busy season.
