Greek police arrested two men aged 21 and 22 in central Athens after officers discovered a suitcase containing nearly nine kilograms of cannabis and other narcotics.
According to police, the incident took place on May 25 in the Agios Panteleimonas district, when officers responded to a verbal altercation outside an apartment building. During checks at the scene, police found a suitcase belonging to the two suspects in the building’s stairwell.
Inside, officers discovered and confiscated 8.9 kilograms of raw cannabis, 25 grams of cocaine and a digital precision scale. Authorities said the quantity of drugs pointed to organized trafficking activity.
A subsequent search of the suspects’ residence uncovered an additional precision scale, €1,590 in cash and packaging materials commonly associated with drug distribution.
The two suspects were taken before a prosecutor, while investigations into the case remain ongoing.
