Classic bicycle and tweed enthusiasts will be heading to the Greek island of Spetses, on October 23-25, for the 12th annual A Weekend in Tweed.
One of Greece’s few car-free islands, Spetses, goes back in time as the Weekend in Tweed (formerly known as the “Tweed Run”) brings cyclists dressed in tweed jackets, caps and classic hats, bow ties and Oxford shoes, riding their vintage bikes across the island.

Riders set off from the iconic Poseidonion Grand Hotel, make their way across Spetses, with stops at key landmarks before they arrive at the lighthouse for a wonderful picnic.
The event also includes a traditional group photo, activities and awards for the most elegant and inventive tweed appearance, and the Concours d’Elegance, which will cast the spotlight on rare, vintage, and classic collector bicycles judged for their authenticity, history, and restoration quality.

Spetses’ Weekend in Tweed comes to a close on Sunday evening at the Palms The Bar with DJ sets and a retro party.
The three-day event is jointly organized by the Poseidonion Grand Hotel and the Hellenic Bicycle Museum with the support of the Municipality of Spetses and the Commercial and Crafts Association of Spetses.
You can get to Spetses in under two hours by taking a high-speed ferry for the port of Piraeus.
