Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today urged the United States not to sell F-35 fighter jets to Turkey. Speaking in an interview with Fox News, Netanyahu said he does not believe Ankara should be supplied with the jets or their engines, arguing this would upset the balance of power in the Middle East.
His remarks come a day ahead of the NATO summit in Ankara, which US President Donald Trump is also expected to attend.
Washington excluded Turkey from the F-35 program back in 2019, after Ankara acquired Russia’s S-400 missile defense system in 2017.
