Jacques Audiard’s film Emilia Perez, which aired on Netflix, is leading the pack as expected, securing a total of 13 Oscar nominations as the 2025 selections for the 97th Academy Awards were announced.
The announcement of Hollywood’s most prestigious awards came five days later than planned due to the devastating wildfires that ravaged Southern California, marking a tragedy of historic proportions.
Other notable nominations are Wicked which picked up 10 nominations for best actress, Cynthia Erivo, sound, editing, picture, visual effects and original score categories.
