The Greek Meteorological Services issued an updated bulletin, according to which the weather will temporarily deteriorate in the eastern and southern parts of the country from late Sunday afternoon (03-12-2023) until the afternoon hours of Monday (04-12-2023).

Heavy rain is forecast locally, while thunderstorms are also predicted featuring frequent lightning, hailstorms, and strong gale-force winds. In more detail, heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected:

From late Sunday afternoon (03-12-2023) until the morning hours of Monday (04-12-2023) in eastern Macedonia, Thrace, and the islands of the northeastern Aegean (Lemnos – Samothrace region).

From the morning hours of Monday (04-12-2023) until late afternoon, the phenomena will affect locally the eastern mainland, Euboea, eastern and southern Peloponnese, the Sporades, and the islands of the eastern Aegean.

For today, Sunday, the following is expected:

Overcast skies are forecast, with local showers in Epirus, the western mainland, the Ionian, Macedonia, the islands of the eastern Aegean, the Dodecanese, and Thrace. In the afternoon, local thunderstorms are expected in the islands of the Northeastern Aegean and Thrace. Atmospheric circulation favors the transport of dust from North Africa.

The temperature will range from 6 to 19 degrees in Northern Greece (in Western Macedonia from 1 to 14 degrees), 9 to 22 degrees in Central and Southern Greece, 15 to 20 degrees in Western Greece (from 10 to 16 degrees in Epirus), 15 to 21 degrees in the Cyclades, and up to 23 degrees in Crete, 16 to 20 degrees in the islands of the Eastern Aegean and the Dodecanese.
