Μake us preferred on Google Athens’ Epigraphical Museum is taking part in this year’s European Heritage Days, joining institutions across the continent under the shared theme “Heritage at Risk: Revive, Resist, Reimagine.”
The museum has organized two main events for the occasion.
From Friday, September 25, through Sunday, September 27, it will offer small-group guided tours of its temporary exhibition “Ostracism – Ostracon II: From Ancient Athens to Modern Forms of Exclusion.” Staged within the museum’s permanent collection, the exhibition is a joint project between the Epigraphical Museum, the Ephorate of Antiquities of the City of Athens, and 40 visual artists. Tours are scheduled for Friday at 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. and 5:30–6:30 p.m., Saturday at 5:30–6:30 p.m., and Sunday at 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
On Friday and Saturday evenings, September 25 and 26, from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m., the museum’s garden will host the final round of the 17th Film Olympiad Grand Prix, themed “From Ancient Inscriptions to the Silver Screen.” Each evening opens at 7:00 p.m. with roundtable discussions, first on “Creation Without a Creator: Artificial Intelligence in Cinema,” followed by “From Homer to Nolan: The
Representation of Ancient Greece in Film.” Speakers from academic and artistic circles are expected to take part. Film screenings follow at 8:30 p.m., with audience voting held at 10:30 p.m.
