Greece’s Foreign Ministry has announced the composition of the government delegation that will accompany Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to Ankara on Wednesday, 11 Feb., for the 6th Greece–Turkey High-Level Cooperation Council.
The delegation includes Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis; National Economy and Finance Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis; Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos; Infrastructure and Transport Minister Christos Dimas; Citizen Protection Minister Michalis Chrisochoidis.
The prime minister will also be accompanied by Education, Religious Affairs and Sports Minister Sofia Zacharaki; Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Minister Giannis Kefalogiannis; Migration and Asylum Minister Thanos Plevris; Culture Minister Lina Mendoni; and Deputy Foreign Minister Harry Theoharis.
Ahead of the visit, the prime minister held a phone conversation on Monday with Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides, briefing him on his upcoming meeting with Turkey’s president.
The two leaders also discussed recent developments on the Cyprus issue, particularly efforts to resume negotiations within the framework set by United Nations Security Council resolutions. According to an announcement from Athens, the call reaffirmed the ongoing coordination between Athens and Nicosia.
