Shocking details from the forensic examination have emerged in the case of the double murder in Aigio , western Greece, where a 54-year-old woman and her 26-year-old son were found dead inside their home.

The investigation is focused on the woman’s 65-year-old Italian partner, who has been remanded in custody and is facing charges of intentional homicide in connection with both deaths. The suspect has denied any involvement and has said he is willing to cooperate with authorities.

According to forensic findings cited in Greek media reports, the fatal injuries were located in the chest area, close to the heart, indicating a targeted attack on vital organs. Investigation focuses on motive and relationship

Authorities are continuing their investigation, with further statements expected from relatives and people close to the victims in an effort to clarify the circumstances surrounding the crime.

Investigators are also examining the relationship between the victims and the suspect. While some accounts describe a relationship without major tensions, other information refers to difficulties in recent months, including personal and financial problems.

The sister of the 54-year-old woman expressed her anger and grief, saying she would continue seeking answers, while the suspect’s lawyer said further information from medical records could emerge in the coming days.

The authorities are working to establish a clearer picture of what may have led to the killings and whether there were any actions taken before the crime.

Suspect seeks release, continues to deny involvement

The 65-year-old suspect is reportedly expected to submit a request for release, seeking to replace his detention with restrictive measures.

In his 16-page statement submitted to authorities, as well as during his testimony before the investigating magistrate, he denied any involvement in the killings. He reportedly claimed that “someone may have given me something to drink and I did not hear anything,” suggesting he may have been asleep and unaware of what happened.

The suspect also reportedly claimed that the woman may have killed her son and then herself, a statement that has drawn reactions. His lawyer said the claim was a personal interpretation based on what he saw at the scene.

Police describe crime scene findings

The first officers who arrived at the home reportedly found no signs of forced entry, while most areas of the house appeared undisturbed. This led investigators to believe the person responsible was likely already inside the property.

The only heavily disturbed area was the bedroom where the two bodies were discovered. Investigators noted signs of disorder in that room, including damaged furniture and objects left on the floor.

A firearm and ammunition were also found inside the bedroom, while police recovered evidence that is being examined as part of the ongoing investigation.
