A devastating fire in the town of Konitsa, Ioannina, claimed the lives of four elderly siblings early Monday, after flames engulfed the container home where they were living. The blaze, which broke out inside the town limits, prompted a large emergency response and has left the local community in shock.

According to initial information reported by regional outlet thespro.gr, the victims are believed to be one man and three women, all siblings, who had been residing together in the container. Their identities are expected to be formally confirmed by authorities through the standard forensic process.

Fire crews from Konitsa and Ioannina rushed to the scene with five vehicles and ten firefighters, battling the flames and securing the area. Alongside the Fire Service, officers from the Hellenic Police, an ambulance from EKAV, and investigators from the Fire Service’s Arson Unit also responded.

Authorities are now examining all possible scenarios as they work to determine the cause of the fire. The investigation remains ongoing, and officials have not yet provided details on how the blaze may have started.
