Captain carefully frees trapped dolphin
Despite the risk of frightening the animal, Martakis moved close enough to reach it and carefully cut through the lines and equipment trapping it.
The young dolphin was eventually freed and returned to its natural environment, where it was reunited with the other dolphin, which had stayed by its side throughout the incident.
The rescue was captured on video, showing the moment the animal was released.
