Greek police have uncovered an illegal casino operating in the city of Thessaloniki, leading to the arrest of four individuals during a coordinated law enforcement operation.
According to authorities, officers from the Northern Greece division of the Organized Crime Unit identified a venue where unauthorized gambling activities were taking place. The establishment was reportedly offering electronic games similar to slot machines, which are strictly regulated under Greek law.
Four people were arrested in connection with the case: two employees of the venue, including a temporary manager and a staff member, as well as two customers found on the premises at the time of the raid. The owner of the business has not yet been located and is currently being sought by police. Criminal charges have been filed against those arrested, depending on their alleged role, for violations of gambling legislation.
During the operation, police seized 33 computer terminals with associated equipment, a central server used to run the gambling activity, and €555 in cash.
