Scattered rain will affect the eastern mainland and the Aegean, while strong to near-gale-force northerly winds will prevail across the Aegean. Temperatures will dip slightly, particularly in eastern and southern areas.
More specifically, the forecast calls for partly cloudy skies, becoming more overcast in the east and south. Local rain is expected in eastern Thessaly, Evia, eastern Central Greece, the northeastern Peloponnese and the Cyclades, while isolated thunderstorms are forecast for Crete.
Temperatures will range from 14 to 25 degrees Celsius in northern Greece, while temperatures will be lower in Western Macedonia, ranging from 9 to 20 degrees. In central and southern Greece, temperatures will range from 15 to 23 degrees, while western Greece will see temperatures between 16 and 26 degrees.
In the Cyclades and Crete, temperatures will range from 18 to 23 degrees, while the eastern Aegean islands will see temperatures between 16 and 25 degrees. Temperatures in the Dodecanese will range from 21 to 26 degrees Celsius.
Winds in the Aegean will blow from the north at moderate to strong speeds of 5 to 6 Beaufort, locally reaching near-gale-force 7 Beaufort, with gusts of 70-80 km/h. In the Ionian Sea, winds will generally be light, becoming temporarily moderate at 4 to 5 Beaufort in the Gulf of Patras.
Weather in Attica and Thessaloniki
In Attica, clouds will temporarily become denser, with local rain mainly affecting northern areas. Temperatures will range from 16 to 20 degrees Celsius, with northern suburbs 3 to 4 degrees cooler. Winds will blow from the north at 5 Beaufort, becoming strong to near-gale-force at 6 to 7 Beaufort in eastern areas, with gusts reaching 70 km/h.
In Thessaloniki, partly cloudy skies are expected, with periods of increased cloud cover. Temperatures will range from 16 to 26 degrees Celsius. Winds in the Thermaic Gulf will blow from the northwest, generally light and temporarily moderate at 4 to 5 Beaufort during the morning.
Weather in the Coming Days
On Thursday, cloudy skies and rain are forecast in the Sporades, Evia, eastern Central Greece and the Peloponnese, with temporary thunderstorms in Crete and the Dodecanese. The rest of the country will see plenty of sunshine. Afternoon temperatures will not exceed 23-26 degrees Celsius, while winds will remain gale-force in the Aegean, reaching 7 to 8 Beaufort.
On Friday, conditions will remain similar, with rain in eastern Central Greece, the Peloponnese and the Aegean, and heavier rainfall in Crete. Sunshine will prevail across the rest of the country. Temperatures will remain at similar levels, while Aegean winds will gradually ease slightly to 6 to 7 Beaufort, reaching 8 Beaufort only locally in the central and southern Aegean.
