Μake us preferred on Google Three children have been hospitalized in the Greek city of Preveza since Tuesday, September 1, following a prosecutor’s order after a report of neglect and malnutrition.
The children, two boys ages 13 and 7 and an 8-year-old girl from the municipality of Ziros, are being treated at Preveza Hospital.
According to Michail Giannakos, president of the Panhellenic Federation of Public Hospital Employees (POEDHN), the children are not being placed under police protection, while their father is reportedly outside the hospital.
Relatives reported neglect
Giannakos said relatives made the report concerning the father, while the children’s mother has left the family home.
“The complaint was made by relatives against the father. The mother left the home. The issue is that the children are not being guarded by the police, and the father is wandering around outside the hospital,” Giannakos said.
He questioned who would be held responsible if the children were taken from the hospital.
“If he abducts them, who will be responsible? Nursing staff cannot act as police officers,” he said.
