Thanasis Antetokounmpo married his longtime partner, Katia, after 13 years together in a ceremony on the Athens Riviera attended by relatives and close friends. His brother Giannis Antetokounmpo served as his best man. The couple, who have two children, have generally kept their personal lives away from the public spotlight.

The wedding nevertheless brought together members of the extended Antetokounmpo family for a rare public celebration, with the festivities including an elaborate reception and a drone show featuring messages such as “Welcome to Greece” and “The Antetokounmpo Way.”

The family’s connection to Greece has remained strong despite the brothers’ international basketball careers. Giannis’ wife, Mariah, and their four children moved to Athens in 2025, while the family has continued to spend time in the city where the brothers grew up.
