Greece’s entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, singer Klavdia, on Thursday evening qualified for final on Saturday, during the second of two preliminary rounds this week. The final will be broadcast around the world on Saturday evening from Basel, Switzerland.
Born in 2003, Klavdia (Papadopoulou), performed the song ““Asteromata” in Greek, and was the last contestant of the night to qualify for the final.
The song draws inspiration from the forced displacement of Pontic Greeks from the southeast coast of the Black Sea more than a century ago, a subject that resonates strongly with her, given her Pontic Greek descent.
In interviews, Klavdia has expressed her lifelong admiration for the Eurovision Song Contest, describing it as a “magical world” she’s dreamed of being a part of since childhood. With her signature style, emotive vocals, and unique musical blend of tradition and modernity, she is now set to represent Greece on the international stage.
