Iron Maiden will perform in Athens on Saturday, May 23rd despite forecasts of heavy rain and possible thunderstorms, organizers confirmed ahead of the band’s highly anticipated anniversary concert.

Thei show at the Olympic Athletic Center of Athens (OAKA), is part of the band’s “Run For Your Lives” world tour. The performance marks the band’s return to Athens during a milestone year celebrating five decades since its formation.

Organizers urge concertgoers to bring waterproof jackets or ponchos, warning that local rainfall is expected throughout the day.

According to the event schedule, doors will open at 5 p.m., with Anthrax set to take the stage at 7 p.m. Iron Maiden will begin its performance at 8:40 p.m.

“For safety reasons, umbrellas are not permitted,” the announcement said, adding that bags and backpacks larger than A4 size will also be prohibited inside the venue.
