Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis attended the Divine Liturgy of the First Resurrection at the Church of Evangelistria on the island of Tinos.
During the service, Metropolitan Dorotheos of Syros addressed the Prime Minister, stating: “You had a spiritual need, as all of us do, to come here for a personal prayer—to draw strength and carry on. Because all people carry responsibilities: family responsibilities, professional responsibilities, and daily and social ones. If each of us bears small and manageable burdens, you carry the weight of an entire nation on your shoulders. You need prayer and the strength of our Holy Mother.”
The Prime Minister, who owns a holiday residence on the island, arrived on Holy Thursday via ferry and is expected to return to Athens on Easter Tuesday.
On Good Friday, accompanied by his wife, Mareva Grabowski-Mitsotaki, he attended the Service and Procession of the Epitaph at the Church of Evangelistria. The event, marked by deep religious sentiment, drew a large crowd of faithful who participated with reverence and devotion.
The Prime Minister’s official schedule will resume on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
