Athens authorities have announced temporary traffic restrictions on Sunday, February 15, due to the 11th Lycabettus Run, a popular city road race.

According to the Hellenic Police (ELAS), road closures, along with bans on stopping and parking, will be in effect from 08:00 to 13:30. The affected streets include:

  • Koniari Street, between M. Merkouri and Nikotsara, including side streets up to the first parallel street.
  • Paliggenesias Street, full length in both directions, including side streets.
  • Daskalogianni Street, full length in both directions, including side streets.
  • Sarandapichou Street, full length in both directions, including side streets.
  • Xanthippou Street, full length in both directions, including side streets.
  • Evelpidos Rogakou Street, full length in both directions, including side streets.
  • Kleomenous Street, full length, including side streets.
  • M. Merkouri Street, between An. Polemou and Lachtos, including side streets.

Drivers are advised to plan alternative routes and expect delays in central Athens during the morning hours. Local authorities also remind residents and visitors to respect temporary restrictions for the safety of participants and pedestrians.

The Lycabettus Run, now in its 11th edition, attracts hundreds of runners and spectators, highlighting Athens’ cityscape and popular neighborhoods around the Lycabettus Hill area.
