A fire alert was raised Thursday afternoon by the Fire Service after a blaze broke out in low-lying vegetation in Koropi, in the southeastern suburbs of Athens.

According to initial information from the Fire Service, the fire is burning close to the Kitsi settlement, though no danger to residents has been reported at this time. Twenty firefighters with six vehicles are currently on the scene and working to contain the blaze.
