A 61-year-old woman from Bulgaria was killed in a road accident on Wednesday afternoon in the Keratea area of southeastern Greece.
Police said the crash occurred shortly before 3 p.m. on the provincial road connecting Keratea and Anavyssos, when the woman’s car collided with a firetruck. The impact left her critically injured.
She was taken by ambulance to KAT Hospital in Athens, where she died a short time later.
Two firefighters were also lightly injured in the collision and transported to the 251 Hellenic Air Force General Hospital for treatment.
According to authorities, the driver of the firetruck was briefly detained following the accident and later released on the orders of a prosecutor.
