A 25-year-old motorcyclist lost his life on Saturday night in a fatal road accident in northern Greece. The crash occurred at approximately 20:40 on the provincial road connecting the cities of Drama and Amphipoli.
According to reports, the young man was riding his motorcycle toward Amphipoli when he was involved in a side-front collision with a car driven by a 77-year-old man traveling in the opposite direction.
Emergency Services Responded Quickly
Emergency medical services arrived swiftly at the scene. An ambulance from the National Emergency Center (EKAV) transported the victim to the General Hospital of Serres, where he was pronounced dead.
An investigation into the cause of the crash is currently being conducted by the Amphipoli Police Department.
The Victim Had Recently Returned to His Hometown
Local media outlet lionnews.gr reports that the victim had recently returned to his hometown, Palaiokomi, from Thessaloniki, where he had previously been living. He had moved back to take over the management of a roadside business located between Palaiokomi and Mesolakkia.
On the day of the accident, he was reportedly traveling from Drama to Palaiokomi, a village within the Municipality of Amphipoli, where he had been residing recently.
