The brown bear population in northern Greece is awakening from a winter hibernation and gradually returning to daily routines, according to an announcement by Arcturos, the well-known NGO and environmental organization that focuses on the species.

This year, the awakening came slightly earlier due to milder weather conditions, the organization said. As a result, visitors can once again see the large mammals up close at the facilities of the Bear Protection Center in Nymfeo, Florina prefecture.

The center’s visiting hours are: 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00 and 16:30.
