“Ten years are a long time, but perhaps also too short — I have great endurance,” Mitsotakis said, reflecting on a decade since his election as leader of the party. Speaking at the party’s headquarters, he highlighted the personal and political significance of the anniversary, recalling the commitments he made in 2016 to party members and supporters.

“Today I am more experienced, but equally determined to continue the political struggle with the same — if not greater — resilience,” he stated, emphasizing that New Democracy remains the dominant political force in Greece, having won all national elections over the past decade and built a broad social alliance of trust.

Mitsotakis also reviewed reforms implemented during his tenure, noting that Greece in 2025 is far removed from the country of 2016. He highlighted measures supporting citizens amid international turbulence, including tax reforms and increases in net wages for workers and families with children.

2030: A Strategic Milestone

Looking ahead, Mitsotakis explicitly set the political horizon for the 2027 elections and the year 2030, describing the latter as a strategic milestone. He pointed out that 2030 will mark 200 years since the founding of the modern Greek state and argued it should signal the definitive end of structural inefficiencies, transitioning to a functional, merit-based, and modern public administration serving citizens.

Concluding his address, Mitsotakis thanked party officials and staff for their support, noting that he draws strength from the trust built over the years, and reaffirmed that the political journey begun in 2016 continues with the goal of “taking Greece even higher.”
