A 36-year-old police officer was handed down a two-year jail sentence and a 5,000-euro fine after being convicted of posting online a nude photograph of a local influencer.

The defendant filed an appeal and was freed on bail.

According to the woman’s attorney, an initial lawsuit was filed by the victim against unknown perpetrators, given that she did not know the man accused and later convicted of posting the lewd image.

The reports didn’t clarify how the suspect came in possession of the image or his motives.

“I will borrow one of the statements made by the honorable prosecutor, who said that privacy is not a luxury, it is a right. Ms. K. came here to defend that right. The right to privacy and henceforth, as she is doing, she will not allow anyone to post her material on the internet and will file a slew of lawsuits,” the woman’s attorney said.
