A large-scale police operation took place on the morning of February 17, 2026, in Nea Peramos, Greece, aimed at curbing illegal activity and ensuring public safety. The operation was organized by the Western Attica Police Department and involved multiple units, including the Crime Investigation Division, the Special Enforcement Unit (O.P.K.E.), the DI.AS. motorcycle team, and the Traffic Police, supported by a police dog and a drone.

Arrests and Violations

During the operation, seven individuals were arrested on charges including electricity theft and violations of firearms regulations. Authorities also recorded seventeen traffic violations, ranging from driving without a license to using a mobile phone while driving and failing to wear helmets.

Seizures and Safety Measures

The electricity provider’s technical team removed 330 meters of illegally tapped power cables, preventing potentially dangerous interference with the electrical grid. Police also seized three hunting rifles along with thirty-five rounds of ammunition.
