The company announcemet in the morning of Friday, October 9 was the following:
“Today, at 11:00, during extensive preventive maintenance at our refinery, two workers were seriously injured. The workers immediately received the required first aid and were taken to the hospital. Their condition is serious and they are receiving appropriate care. All required safety and emergency response protocols were activated from the very first moment.”
Ambulances from the National Center for Emergency Care (EKAB) rushed to the scene to transport the injured workers to Corinth Hospital. After the incident, the workers were removed from the facilities. “Investigations into the exact causes of the accident are underway,” the Motor Oil announcement states.
