New details emerged in the tragic death of 3-year-old Andreas in Spata, Western Achaia, following statements by his 25-year-old uncle to local police.

According to authorities, the accident occurred when the uncle, who was supervising Andreas, attempted to take him for a ride on a quad bike. The vehicle allegedly slipped and fell into an empty space under a retaining wall, fatally injuring the child.

The uncle appeared devastated during his confession and later led police to a warehouse where he had hidden the quad bike, according to local reports. He now faces manslaughter charges.

Doctors Struggled to Save Child

Dramatic efforts to save Andreas unfolded at Karamandaneio Children’s Hospital in Patras. The boy was admitted in critical condition, intubated, and subjected to 40 minutes of CPR. Despite doctors’ efforts, Andreas suffered cardiac arrest and died.

Local media report that the uncle was holding Andreas when they both fell from the fence, causing the fatal injury. The 25-year-old sustained minor injuries and was treated at Agios Andreas Hospital.
