An unusual accident took place Monday night in the Nea Ambliani district of Lamia, central Greece, when a van driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a fire hydrant in Red Cross Park.

According to local reports, the impact tore the hydrant from the ground, creating what witnesses described as a spectacular makeshift fountain.

Water shot more than 7 to 8 meters (23 to 26 feet) into the air, surprising nearby residents and passersby.
