Miss Universe 2023 Sheynnis Palacios took a plunge into the turquoise waters of the Corinth Canal this week during a promotional visit to Greece.
The Nicaraguan beauty queen was traveling in a boat sailing through the 19th century man-made canal that connects the Gulf of Corinth, and by extension the Ionian Sea, with the Saronic Gulf in southern Greece when she posted her dive from the boat and her dip on her Instagram account. Her destination was the Gulf of Corinth resort city of Loutraki.
Earlier this week, the 23-year-old Miss Universe visited the Acropolis Museum and the Acropolis archaeological site. During a visit of the Hellenic Parliament in downtown Athens she was given a guided tour of the plenary hall, the colonnade and the legislature’s permanent exhibition areas, making posts on social media at every occasion.
Sheynnis Palacios is the first Nicaraguan woman to win a title of the “Big Four” global beauty pageants. She is also the first Central American to win Miss Universe outright.
