Greece has secured five places among Europe’s top 10 beaches for 2026, according to the latest ranking by European Best Destinations, highlighting some of the country’s most popular and scenic coastal locations.
The list was based on criteria including water quality, accessibility, available activities, natural beauty, family-friendly features and environmental protection. The top spot went to Praia de Monte Clérigo in Portugal’s Algarve region, while five Greek beaches made it into the European ranking.
Five Greek beaches among Europe’s elite
The highest-ranked Greek beach was Voutoumi on Antipaxos, which placed second overall. Known for its clear waters and natural surroundings, the beach was the strongest Greek entry in the ranking.
Fteri beach on Kefalonia followed in third place, while Elafonissi in Crete ranked fourth. Elafonissi is one of Greece’s most recognizable coastal landscapes and has received international recognition for its unique scenery.
Two beaches in Corfu also entered the top 10. Rovinia beach ranked eighth, while Paleokastritsa completed the list in tenth place.
