On Thursday, October 2, 2025, Greece will face unsettled and stormy conditions. Showers and thunderstorms are expected across the mainland and the Ionian from early in the day, later spreading to Eastern Macedonia, Thrace, the northern Aegean, the Cyclades, and Crete.
Severe weather is likely in the Ionian and western mainland until the afternoon, across the Peloponnese throughout the day, and in Eastern Central Greece, parts of Macedonia, the northern Aegean, and Crete from the afternoon onwards. Thunderstorms in the Ionian, Aegean, and southern mainland may also bring hail. By late evening, snow is expected in mountainous areas of northwestern Greece, especially Western Macedonia. Dust concentrations will be relatively high in southern and eastern regions.
Temperatures will remain low for the season, ranging from 3–13°C in Western Macedonia, 12–19°C in the rest of Macedonia, 10–22°C in Thrace, 10–19°C in Thessaly, 10–21°C in Epirus, 13–20°C in Central Greece, 13–23°C in the Peloponnese, 13–21°C in the Ionian Islands, 13–24°C in the northern and eastern Aegean, 13–21°C in the Cyclades, 19–26°C in the Dodecanese, and 11–29°C in Crete. Minimum temperatures in northern and western regions are expected late in the day.
Winds in the northern Aegean will blow from the northeast at 3–5 Beaufort, strengthening to 4–6 Beaufort by afternoon. In the central and southern Aegean, northerlies at 2–4 Beaufort will gradually shift to southerlies at 4–6 Beaufort. In the Ionian, winds will start from the south at 4–6 Beaufort, turning northwesterly later at 5–7 Beaufort.
In Athens, rain and thunderstorms are expected, with a chance of strong storms from midday. Winds will shift from light northerlies to southerlies at 2–4 Beaufort. Temperatures will range from 19–22°C.
In Thessaloniki, rain and possible thunderstorms are forecast. Winds will blow from the north at 2–4 Beaufort, while temperatures will stay between 13–16°C, with the lowest values late in the day.
