Authorities are on alert following a powerful explosion at a vinegar production factory in the town of Examilia, Corinthia Municipality, on Monday, July 27. Initial reports indicate that one person has died, with the victim reportedly found during firefighting operations.
The blast was heard across the wider area, alarming local residents. A major fire broke out inside the factory shortly afterward, rapidly spreading through the premises. According to the latest information, the facility has been almost completely destroyed by the blaze.
According to local news website ekorinthos.gr, the explosion was reportedly caused by a propane tank used by the company.
A total of 32 firefighters are taking part in the operation, supported by a 9th Special Unit of Forest Operations (EMODE) ground team and 10 fire engines. The firefighting effort remains underway.

Meanwhile, the Corinthia Arson Investigation Unit has been mobilised to determine the cause of the fire and investigate the circumstances surrounding the deadly incident.
