Many schools across Greece will remain closed for a second consecutive day as severe weather conditions continue to sweep the country, following the storm that began on January 21.
The suspension of classes in both primary and secondary education remains in effect in several areas due to adverse weather and related safety concerns.

According to official announcements, schools will not operate today, Thursday January 22, in Kalamos of Oropos. The 1st EPAL (Vocational Lyceum) of Vari will also remain closed due to technical problems. Closures are additionally in place in Mandra (Ilia), Domokos and Makrakomi.

Schools will also stay shut on Rhodes, in Western Lesvos and Mytilene, as well as in Western and Eastern Samos. The islands of Lemnos, Chios and Oinousses are likewise affected.

Delayed Opening Times
In some regions, schools will open later than usual. Classes will begin at 9:00 a.m. in Lamia, Kastoria, Argos Orestiko, Agrafa and the Municipality of Prespes, while in Florina the school bell will ring at 9:15 a.m.

Parents are advised to regularly check announcements on their local municipality’s website for any updates or changes to school operating schedules.
