The activities of Greek universities in education, research, and innovation, the strengthening of the international orientation of higher education, and the study programs offered by Greek universities to Greeks abroad as well as to foreign nationals are among the topics that will be discussed during the online conference titled “Strengthening the Bridges Between Greek Universities and the Hellenism of the Diaspora.”

The conference will take place on Sunday, January 24, 2021, at 14:30 (Athens time), on the occasion of the celebration of the International Day of Education and the bicentennial of the Greek Revolution of 1821. It is organized by the General Secretariat for Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and the General Secretariat for Public Diplomacy and Greeks Abroad of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Professor Georgios Anagnostou, holder of the Miltiadis Marinakis Endowed Professorship of Modern Greek Language and Culture at The Ohio State University, will speak at the conference, sharing his experience in teaching Greek abroad.

Greetings will be delivered by Minister of Education Niki Kerameus, Deputy Minister for Higher Education Angelos Syrigos, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Konstantinos Vlasis, and Chairman of the Special Permanent Committee on Greeks Abroad Savvas Anastasiadis, among others.
