A student from a special education school in western Greece is being treated in intensive care after developing suspected meningitis, prompting concern among parents and school officials.
The student is currently hospitalized in serious but stable condition at a university hospital, where doctors are closely monitoring his health and continuing diagnostic tests and treatment.
According to reports, the student developed a high fever and other alarming symptoms on Tuesday. He was initially taken to a local hospital, where doctors quickly suspected meningitis and decided to transfer him to a larger medical facility for specialized care.
The incident has raised concerns within the school community. However, according to available information, the student had not attended classes during the previous week, a factor that significantly reduces the risk of transmission within the school environment.
