Toxicology tests on Greek singer Giorgos Mazonakis’ blood and urine have been completed, with the findings sent to the Athens Forensic Medicine Service, according to a report by MEGA.

The toxicological and quantitative analyses found no evidence of pharmaceutical poisoning, according to information cited by the broadcaster.

However, the report identifies the absence of an anesthesiologist at the medical office on Karneadou Street as a factor that adversely affected the course of the singer’s health.

According to the report, the substances administered, considered alongside Mazonakis’ clinical condition, caused central nervous system depression and slowed the functioning of vital organs, ultimately resulting in his death.

Forensic expert points to risks of administering anesthetic substances

Speaking to MEGA, forensic expert Grigoris Leon said the substances involved could be fatal when administered by people without expertise in anesthesiology.

“We have substances that, in the hands of people with no knowledge of anesthesiology, can lead to a person’s death. Based on what the toxicology results show so far, this appears to have been the mechanism of death in this particular case,” he said.

The findings have been forwarded to the Athens Forensic Medicine Service.
