Athens welcomes May with over 350 free events, concerts, parties and happenings around town starting with the Athens Urban Picnic at the Plato Academy Park on May 1st.
The Plato Academy Park will host the largest picnic of the year, marking the opening of the Athens City Festival. Residents and visitors are invited to bring their own picnic and enjoy a full day of music, activities, and community gathering in one of the city’s most historic green spaces.
“The Athens City Festival transforms the city for an entire month into an open stage for everyone,” said Athens Mayor Haris Doukas. “With more than 350 free events in parks, squares, cultural venues, and neighborhoods, we offer everyone, residents and visitors, the chance to participate, discover, and share experiences.”
