They are part of Athens’ new generation of musicians—faces you may already recognize from other projects, rooftop gigs and the city’s quietly vibrant live scene. This Friday, January 24, the spotlight turns to Springtones, a young four-piece soul-indie band, performing live at Basket_Take a Shot, one of Metaxourgeio’s newest and already much-loved creative hangouts.

Formed in the spring of 2025, Springtones bring together well-known figures from Athens’ music community, united by a shared love for soulful textures, minimalist songwriting and space for improvisation. Their sound moves between indie intimacy and neo-soul warmth, built on interaction—both within the band and with the audience.

The live at Basket_Take a Shot is conceived as an open-contribution gig, inviting listeners into the process rather than placing the music behind a stage barrier. It’s a fitting setting for a band that thrives on exchange and spontaneity.

Springtones were originally formed around the recording of their upcoming album, Of Love and Grief, scheduled for release in 2026. The English-language concept album features lyrics and music by Panagiotis Charalampopoulos and draws on singer-songwriter structures infused with strong neo-soul elements. Minimalism, emotional clarity and improvisation define the project’s aesthetic, leaving room for each performance to evolve organically.
