Ruling New Democracy (ND) barely surpassed its electoral showing in the last European Parliament election, confirming a minor recovery from previously dipping numbers, according to results of an opinion poll presented on Thursday.

The Metron Analysis poll was presented on the prime-time newscast of Mega Channel.

Specifically, the center-right party maintains a 14.6-percentage-point lead over its nearest rival, socialist/social democrat PASOK, which also appears to be gaining, albeit marginally, in the last poll by the same firm, as compared to June 2025.

The results also show a continued domination by incumbent Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on the question of which political leader is most capable for the post, where he receives 25% of respondents’ nod. His nearest rivals, meanwhile, do not exceed 7%.

In an extrapolation of respondents’ answers, ND is given 28.1% in the latest poll, followed by PASOK with 10.5%.

If the poll results prove accurate in a general election, then eight political parties will manage to enter Parliament, down from 10 in the last poll in June.

The cost-of-living remains the most acute problem facing the country, according to 49% of respondents.
