Authorities consider visitor cap
According to local media reports, authorities are considering measures to limit the number of visitors to Balos in an effort to protect its sensitive natural environment.
One proposal as cited in DailyMail, would limit arrivals to 1,200 people every three hours, regardless of whether visitors arrive by boat or by car.
The proposed cap is intended to reduce congestion while protecting the area’s natural environment from the pressure caused by large numbers of visitors.
The issue is part of a wider debate over overtourism in Greece, with several destinations experiencing heavy visitor concentrations during the summer.
