The Panhellenic Association of Women with Breast Cancer, Alma Zois, has donated 40,000 euros to support accommodation facilities for cancer patients who have to undergo treatment away from home.
The funds, raised during the 2025 Race for the Cure, organized in Greece by non-profit organization Alma Zois, will go to the Pnoi Agapis association to help cover operating costs at the Ioannis D. Kritikos and Elisavet Foteinelli Kritikou guesthouses, which provide accommodation for oncology patients.
Facilities like these play a crucial role in supporting patients who are required to travel long distances to access cancer treatment. By offering safe and affordable accommodation, they help ease the financial and emotional strain on patients and their families during an already challenging period.

The donation is part of Alma Zois’ broader effort to support people affected by breast cancer, extending assistance beyond medical treatment to address practical challenges faced by patients.
Alma Zois President Paraskevi Michalopoulou emphasized the importance of providing meaningful support throughout the treatment process.
“As an association of women with personal experience of breast cancer, we know how vital it is for those undergoing treatment to have meaningful support in their daily lives.”
“Especially for individuals who must travel away from home to receive their treatment, having a safe and welcoming space can make this challenging journey a little more manageable.”
Michalopoulou added that the donation aims to help sustain services that address the everyday needs of cancer patients.
“We believe that care does not end with medical treatment; it also encompasses the circumstances in which individuals must navigate their health journey,” she said.
