A 16-year-old student was hospitalized early Friday after collapsing from excessive alcohol consumption outside a bar in Peristeri, a densely populated suburb of Athens. The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, when emergency medical services received a call reporting an unconscious minor lying outside the establishment.

An ambulance arrived quickly and transferred the teenager to a nearby hospital, where doctors confirmed that he had consumed a dangerously high amount of alcohol. His condition has not been detailed further, but authorities reported that he regained consciousness after medical attention.

Police later arrested the 38-year-old manager of the bar for allegedly serving alcohol to a minor. In addition, the teenager’s father was taken into custody on charges related to neglecting the supervision of a minor, a violation that Greek law treats seriously when incidents involving underage drinking occur.
