For the first time ever, the Paris Opera Junior Ballet will perform in Athens, offering Greek audiences a rare opportunity to experience four iconic works of global choreography in a single evening. This world premiere will take place at the Megaron – Athens Concert Hall, bringing together 18 of the finest young dancers from one of the most prestigious ballet institutions in the world.

Under the artistic direction of José Martinez, the Paris Opera Junior Ballet presents a diverse and exhilarating program that bridges classical tradition and contemporary creativity. The performance includes celebrated works by legendary choreographers George Balanchine and Maurice Béjart, alongside emotionally charged pieces by Anabelle Lopez Ochoa and José Martinez himself.

Founded within the framework of the historic Paris Opera Ballet—widely regarded as the birthplace of classical dance—the Junior Ballet reflects a forward-looking vision. As Paris Opera General Director Alexander Neef explains:

“The creation of the Junior Ballet reflects the Paris Opera’s desire for continuous evolution by offering innovative approaches to creation, training, and transmission, while remaining rooted in the heritage of the institution.”

This landmark performance is more than a cultural event—it is also a humanitarian initiative. Organized by Lifeline Hellas, in collaboration with Visionary Culture, and held under the auspices of the Embassy of France in Greece, the Hellenic-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and HRH Princess Katherine, the event supports Lifeline’s ongoing mission to equip Athens’ children’s hospitals with life-saving modern incubators.

For over three years, Lifeline Hellas has been providing critical medical equipment to the “Agia Sofia” and “P. & A. Kyriakou” Children’s Hospitals. The Athens premiere of the Paris Opera Junior Ballet furthers this vital work—bringing the beauty of ballet to the stage and much-needed support to those in care.

The Paris-based CHANEL company proudly serves as the Founding Patron of the Paris Opera Junior Ballet, reinforcing its commitment to the arts and to nurturing the next generation of exceptional talent.
