The U.S. Ambassador to Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle, made a lively appearance at the Peace and Friendship Stadium, in Athens, where she watched the Euroleague clash between Olympiacos and Zalgiris that took place on Sunday, Nov. 12.

Accepting an invitation from the Olympiacos Basketball Club, Guilfoyle joined team presidents Panagiotis and Giorgos Angelopoulos in the stands for the 10th round of the tournament.

Adding a touch of star power, acclaimed Greek filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos was also spotted courtside. Cameras captured a friendly exchange between the ambassador and the Oscar-nominated director — a meeting that drew plenty of attention both on and off the court.

Known for her dynamic and outgoing personality, Guilfoyle has been making waves in Athens since her arrival. A close ally of U.S. President Donald Trump, she has embraced her role with energy and enthusiasm. In past interviews, she described herself as “active” and someone who loves both watching and playing sports — a sentiment clearly on display that evening.

During the presentation of her credentials to Greek President Kostas Tasoulas, Guilfoyle reminisced about covering the 2004 Athens Olympic Games for ABC News — a fitting reminder of her long-standing connection to Greece.

Once again, the ambassador showed she’s not just representing her country — she’s also getting in step with the rhythm of Greek life.
