The delegation included representatives of prominent Dutch clubs Ajax, Feyenoord, PSV Eindhoven, FC Twente, FC Groningen, Go Ahead Eagles, Sparta Rotterdam, Excelsior, ADO Den Haag, FC Eindhoven, FC Emmen and SC Telstar.

The visitors were shown the architectural plans for the new stadium and expressed particular interest in the project, as well as admiration for Olympiacos owner and president Evangelos Marinakis and his contribution to the club.
The visit was organized and hosted by Marina Vernikou, while Olympiacos’ history was presented by Nikos Gavalas.
Konstantinos Chatzimanolis briefed the delegation on the stadium project, Verouska Georganti guided visitors through the museum and Kostas Vernikos answered questions about the club and its facilities.
The visit comes as Olympiacos advances plans for a major redevelopment of its historic home ground. The project, unveiled by Marinakis in July, envisages a stadium with a capacity of more than 53,000, compared with the current venue’s approximately 33,500 seats. The investment, estimated at more than 250 million euros, is to be financed by the club and its owner.

The proposed redevelopment includes expanded stands, a new roof and upgraded facilities, with the aim of bringing the stadium in line with modern international standards. Legislative provisions submitted in October envisage a 49-year concession for the stadium grounds and the construction of at least 1,800 parking spaces. Olympiacos is expected to play temporarily at Athens’ Olympic Stadium during the construction period.

The club’s museum, which opened in August 2025 as part of its centenary celebrations, covers 1,200 square meters and features more than 20 interactive and audiovisual installations documenting Olympiacos’ history and achievements.
