A deadly incident left one person dead in Kallithea, a suburb of Athens, late Wednesday night, when a group of approximately ten people became involved in a violent clash, resulting in a young man being stabbed in the chest with a sharp object.

The victim was rushed to Hippokrateio Hospital in Athens, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Police have taken eight people into custody and recovered the knife believed to have been used during the attack.

According to reports, authorities are examining all possible motives, with one line of investigation focusing on the possibility that the incident was linked to soccer fan violence.

The police investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to fully determine the circumstances surrounding the confrontation and the fatal attack on the young man.
